Better With Age: Tommy Lei

In celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we’re shining a light on creatives in our community whose heritages inspire them in their crafts.

Our twelfth episode features Tommy Lei, a photographer, interior decorator, and content curator based in Los Angeles. Whether it is photography or interior design, Tommy’s work stems from a genuine desire to elevate the everyday and to celebrate the ordinary by making it extraordinary. Architectural Digest, Domino, and Saatchi Art have featured his work, and he recently curated and produced his first AAPI artist group show at REALM, Chinatown Los Angeles. Check out his home, which includes a Traditional Chinese Protective Altar gifted by his parents, a leather Chinese takeout container and fortune cookie, and an Oscar De La Renta chinoiserie fish plate. Follow along as we feature more cherished old things from those in the know.
