Better With Age: Sydney Gore

For our thirtieth episode, we explore the universe of “Gorecore,” also known as Sydney Gore’s NYC apartment. Sydney is a writer, editor, journalist, and consultant. She currently works as a Senior Digital Design Editor at Architectural Digest, and her work has been published in The New York Times, Vogue, Wall Street Journal, The Cut, W Magazine, and more. She’s the queen of trendspotting and telling dynamic stories that shift culture and spark curiosity. Remember this summer’s Tomato Girl trend? She called it the next viral food back in 2022.

Sydney’s self-described design style is “gorecore” — intentional and unique — and her major influences include Betsey Johnson, Postmodernism, and Bauhaus. She’s an avid collector with impressive assortments from MacKenzie Childs, Gaetano Pesce, and tons of vinyl, vintage teapots, and books.

Tour Sydney’s home and check out her favorite old things, including a vintage etagere filled with her many collectibles and a Jonathan Adler burl wood credenza found on Kaiyo.
