Better With Age: Sophie Collé

Our forty-second Better With Age home tour episode features Sophie Colle, a designer, carpentress, chair lover, and proud cat mom based in Brooklyn, NY.

After studying Industrial Design at Virginia Tech, a stint at a contemporary art museum, and working in high-end residential interior design, she began materializing the numerous designs that filled her sketchbooks in 2020. Her designs are built-to-order and hand-crafted at her woodshop, located inside her sunny Bushwick apartment. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Vogue, and more, and she has collaborated with MoMA, among others.

Her always-sunny home is a constant evolution that serves as her launch pad for new experiments and ideas as she explores the whimsical relationship humans can have with furniture. Other than the pieces she’s built herself, her collection is entirely vintage and secondhand.

Check out Sophie’s home tour and check out her favorite old things, including a sleek black vintage Eero Saarinen Tulip Chair found on Kaiyo.
