Better With Age: Marisa Taddei

Our thirty-seventh episode features Marisa Taddei – a vintage aficionado based in New York’s Greenwich Village. With a decade of experience sourcing archive clothing for private clients, as well as a past life in fashion styling for brands like ADEAM and TOME, in 2024 she will be launching a new business, r.s.v.p. nyc, specializing in affordable luxury items for bridal occasions and special events.

Marisa has deep familial ties to Greenwich Village, which has partly fueled her appreciation and love for historic buildings and all things old. Her mother was raised a few blocks away, and both parents attended nearby NYU. Three blocks south is her family’s restaurant, La Lanterna di Vittorio. The building is a NYC Landmark for being owned by Aaron Burr and also having ties to the Underground Railroad. Marisa’s grandparents opened the restaurant in 1977 after they immigrated from Liguria, Italy, and the restaurant continues to be a Village staple today.

Marisa’s favorite thing about her 1919 pre-war apartment is how the original details have been thoughtfully maintained and restored. She brings her love of used items into the home, breathing second life into heirloom pieces with a specific love for mid-century and traditional Italian design.

Tour her home and check out her favorite old things, including her father’s record player from his NYU fraternity in the 80s and a USM Haller modular unit she scored on Facebook Marketplace.
