Better With Age: Lulu LaFortune

Our thirty-fifth episode features Lulu Lafortune – a Furniture Designer based in LA who, before starting her brand, worked with notable designers such as Kelly Wearstler and James Perse.

After studying furniture, textile, and interior design at SCAD, Lulu was intentional about finding a role in the industry that doesn’t contribute to cheaply manufactured fast furniture. Her namesake brand is dedicated to creating durable, bold, and cheerful heirloom pieces that will last for generations. While Lulu’s home style is simple and practical, what she produces is more decorative and exciting. Still, functionality is vital to Lulu’s overall aesthetic because functional pieces built with integrity and discernment will be cherished and passed on.

Tour Lulu’s home and check out her favorite old things, including a tiny painting by her Grandmother re-imagined with a modern twist, and the perfect leather lounge chair found on Kaiyo.
