Better With Age: Bethany Brill

Our thirty-fourth episode features Bethany Brill @bbrill – a self-taught designer and the Creative Director of Teddy Content Studio, which she co-founded with her husband. Bethany’s style can be described as “Copenhagen meets California,” and is centered on the idea of creating a space that fosters creativity and playfulness for her three young children. She renovated her 1400-square-foot 1980s Costa Mesa townhouse to fit this ethos with its airy, minimalist, colorful vibe.

Bethany’s passion for creating things with her own hands can be traced back to childhood memories of helping her father build their family home. She has also found it easier and more rewarding to do things herself than managing a contractor. Bethany’s advice to becoming an expert DIY-er? “Don’t be afraid to fail.”

Tour Bethany’s home and check out her favorite old things, including an original Gainey pot thrifted for $20, and vintage Rima Gastone Rinaldi dining chairs found on Kaiyo.
