Better With Age: Leah Romero

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re shining a light on creatives in our community whose heritages inspire them in their crafts.

Our thirty-first episode features Leah Romero – a native New Yorker, artist, and seasoned graphic designer. She balances her role as the Senior Digital Designer at Elle magazine with her artistic passion – creating miniatures – and co-owning a vintage store called Fantasy Explosion with her partner.

Growing up, Leah was taught to appreciate and value her family-owned objects. As a result, every piece in her home today is thoughtful and intentional, and most of it is pre-loved. She’s inspired by wooden accents and fabrics that remind her of her grandparents’ home in Ecuador, which she tries to visit once a year.

Tour Leah’s home and check out her favorite old things, including a Fritz Hansen folding tray table that she found for $5 at a yard sale and a West Elm couch – found on Kaiyo.
